Week 12

Hi all,

We could use a social networking site to interact with our customers, publicise our events and ask for new ideas that will improve our services,

Week 11

Hi all,

Well, I am up to Week 11 and I am supposed to consider the implications of using Google Docs in my position. I suppose it would be an idea to use it to alter any documents I am making up for children's activities with input from branches,

Podcasts

Hi all,
It may be an idea to create a podcast of our Author talks and post them to the library website, although I suppose you would need to get the speaker's permission,

Answer Boards

Hi all,

"Slamming the boards" might be a good way to let our library services be known to new community members. If we could publicise our services and projects it would be even better

See ya,

Week 7

Hi all,

Have just finished Week 7 and I am probably at my most confused. Del.cio.us and LibraryThing look like great sites if you are into that sort of thing, my link to my LibraryThing account is here:

del.icio.us

Hi all,

My del.icio.us account is at . I am hoping this link works. We could use this method on our library webpage for pathfinders for the kids doing their assignments.

YouTube video

Hi all,
The video I am going to embed in this blog shows where we went on holiday last year at the start of the trip. Right at the beginning of the video, there is a view of the Kona/Kailua waterfront showing the resort which was our first stop on our holiday.

Bloglines

Hi all,
I had trouble finding the RSS feeds at first and then because I don't ordinarily view newsgroups or other blogs, it was difficult to think of ones that I might be interested in. I finally found enough, but I will probably not have the time in future to keep looking at them. If you had a hobby or outside interest, it would be great to use Bloglines to keep up-to-date. Of course, I could have been a good girl and added a lot of library blogs that I'm afraid I would not find terribly interesting at all (sorry). Libraries in general would benefit from Bloglines in keeping up-to-date (of course).

Lesson 3 - Flickr

Hi all,
For this lesson plan we are supposed to provide a link to a photo from Flickr that interests us. This photo http://flickr.com/photos/spikebot/123473089/in/set-1815258/ is of one of the first libraries that I have worked at. My children's great aunt was also the first librarian to work at this library. It used to be the Council Chambers, and I remember a room in there that used to be the safe. I first worked there as a Casual Library Assistant, and I remember the day of the Newcastle earthquake. We were changing the whole non-fiction collection around when all of a sudden the shelving started to shake. It was a wonder the old building didn't fall down. It has been completely redesigned inside now and includes the Council building at the back as the Spike Milligan reading room.

Bye for now

Hi to all the wonderful grannies out there,

I don't like the idea of posting photos of my grandchildren on the net but needless to say they are terrific kids and great fun to play with. Is there a better way to spend the weekend than spoiling the grandchildren and taking them on adventures all over the place. Last weekend, I took them to The Entrance on the Central Coast to the Water Park. Masses of fun, then we went on to the Tuggerah Shopping Centre to the Chipmunks fun centre. We were all pleasantly exhausted by the end of the day. This is all really boring stuff, but I really don't want to do a work related site.
